Located in an old port district north of Bordeaux, this enormous building once served as a submarine base during World War II. From Portugal to Paradise: Finding Zen in Chacala, Mexico Where’s Waldo? Remember the beloved character created by Martin Handford , brought to life in the 1991 animated series with Townsend Coleman , Jim Cummings, Brad Garrett, and Julian Holloway? That’s honestly how my travels have felt lately, bouncing from one place to the next, always searching for the next adventure, the next moment of wonder. I believe we left off in Portugal , which was a wonderful place to be indeed. So wonderful, in fact, that I’m heading back in September. But after Portugal, I went somewhere completely different. Mexico . My warm-weather bags were already packed, so the transition was easy. Morning Rituals in Sesimbra: Portugal’s Quiet Blessing Another morning in my seaside fourth-floor room, drapes pulled back, sliders open to the deck. Waves crashing. Water lapping the sand. The kind of sound that makes you feel like you’re being reset from the inside out. My Portugal journey began in Lisbon Center , a buzzing city alive with energy. Music in the streets. Culture in every corner. People of all backgrounds weaving through the city like a moving mosaic. And food so good it could knock your socks off. Now I’ve relocated to a more natural part of Portugal near Setúbal . Peaceful. Serene. Breathtaking. Here, the pace of life feels slower and more grounded. From this region, you can travel to remote places filled with history and charm, quiet, picturesque corners of the country that feel untouched. The sun rises and sets before my eyes each day.
